2014 Pinewood Derby

Camden made a Minecraft car this year to race for the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby!  He was so proud!

The race track!  Daddy helped with the electronics again this year; he's on the left.

Camden is in his red vest watching the cars be raced!

He won First Place this year!
(We didn't know it then, but he was suffering a double ear infection at the time!)

Life Size Game Night!

Camden's School had a Life Sized game night coupled with a Penny War to raise money for field trips.  You put pennies in your class jar and silver coins to "bomb" the other jars!  The class with the most pennies at the end of the war minus their bombs, earns a bonus field trip to the planetarium!

The twins got to go to the Halloween Carnival, so this time I took just Camden.  It was nice to have just one child to watch versus three!  Camden chose Battleship first and got to play with another 2nd grader on his team.  The other team sank Camden first and won.  Camden was a great loser, I was impressed!

The next game was scrabble.  We quickly ran out of game board space and used the carpet too.  Camden was so proud that he was coming up with his own words!  Camden's classroom had Candy Land, but it was the only room that had teachers running the game so it was way too crowded to wait and play.

The last classroom had regular sized games like Jenga!  Camden found his classmate and started playing games with her.  He was so sweet and asked her if she wanted to go buy popcorn together!  Hee hee.  They came back with 2 bags of potato chips instead.  I asked what happened to the popcorn and he said, she wanted chips!

Hoping Things Go Back to Normal...

Ella caught a nasty virus that resulted in Croup for her.  She lasted 2 nights, but then on the third day she was still having trouble breathing in the morning.  She was turning blue around the lips and her fingers as I was throwing boys into the van!  The cold air helped a little bit, but the ER Drs took her straight back!
She had 2 breathing treatments and a dose of liquid steroids as well.  Once she could breathe, she fell asleep.  Uncle John came to take the boys to school for me so I could stay with Ella.  A couple hours later Angie came to visit Ella too!  Both sets of Grandparents were on vacation & still are!

Once she was back on track, the ER Drs released her with an updated inhailer prescription and we headed back home to let her crash for the day.  It turns out that her old inhailer, the one we use twice a year in the winter for Croup, was expired!  Poor thing was getting just air puffs instead of actual medicine.  Ella is completely healed, Mommy however is suffering from a tonsil infection now!

Swim Lessons

We started Swim Lessons this morning, and oh boy was it crowded!  The center was well organized, just a LOT of kids.  The preschool class has their own learner 3 foot pool and the twins had a great time.
Camden signed up for the level 2 class in the regular pool.  He was extremely nervous before class, but he did AWESOME!  Not only did he remember all of his skills from the previous lessons 2 years ago, but he put his entire face in the water and jumped in too!

Cat Nap

I apologize for the cat nap on my posts, Picasa is not allowing me to upload images to Blogger?  I keep getting a Service Error 503 code.   I looked up the code and it said it should resolve itself, but it hasn't after 5 days?  I found out I can blog through Blogger dashboard for now...

Goodbye Bunk Beds!

The twins were constantly driving me crazy with the fighting over who slept where with their bunk beds.  It was also SO hard to make the beds and change the sheets on the top bunk.   Erik really wanted a room of his own like Camden has.   Ella, Camden and I surprised him tonight by dismantling the bunk beds and building 2 twin beds instead.

Ella was so excited to get done.  (It takes a lot longer to do things without men help!)  She loved having her dolly pictures that Grandma Jill made back up.  She has her art things on her side of the desk and her Barbie house by her bed.

Erik was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY excited to have "a room of his own" on his side of the room!  He LOVED the Minecraft pictures Camden gave him for his side of the room too.  He was ready to go to bed until I actually suggested it, then all bets were off!

The back side of the room.

Erik's Thank-you hug!

I gave in and let the twins stay up a little bit late and play Hot Wheels to celebrate their new room!  I need to change their curtains to a softer color, but that was enough work for one night!

Ty's Birthday Party

This past Saturday we went to the twins' friend's birthday party at Bullwinkles!  It was a small group and tons of fun!

Our party bracelets came with one outdoor attraction as well.  The boys didn't want to go out in the cold, so I took Ella on the Zipline!  Going back was scarier than flying down forwards!

Brian have to have a try as well!

We spent the rest of the time playing games with our bracelet cards.  If the kids earned tickets, they were loaded right on to their card electronically-so cool!  (Grandma Bonnie, Ella is wearing her new outfit you bought her!)
