Eyes and Ears!

Erik went to get his eyes examined last week after having headaches after reading.
He was a little bit excited.
His eye exam went well, no tears even with the dialation!
Sporting the shades!
It was decided since the difference between the perfectly working eye and his lazy eye is greater than last time, to wear glasses for a year and recheck.  He tired on some frames, but his face is so small and narrow!
He basically had 2 choices...
And these won!  I think he likes them!
Then after a quick lunch at Burger King, we headed to the Ear Dr. to find out his ear tubes are already fallen out!  (Camden still had both in August!)
Since he has had 2 ear infections already, one more means another set of ear tubes and possibly removal of the adenoids as well.  Poor kid!

Staying Healthy with Shots!

Our tiny little Mane Coon kitten is now about 14 months old and was due for her shots!
Camden surprisingly was the only one who wanted to miss a morning of school to take her with me.  Sarah was NOT amused by his entertainment.
It's Okay Sarah!
Dr. Chris giving Sarah all 3 shots, what a good kitty!
Camden read to her while I paid over $100!
Ahhh, it's good to be home again!
Next was the kids' turn for the Flu Mist.
All 3 kids were nervous, they thought they was a needle at the end going up their nose!
In the end, we all decided the Flu Mist was much easier than the Flu Shot, and no sore arm!

Cub Scout Stampede

Last Saturday we headed to Cub Scout Stampede.  The kids started at the Pinewood Derby car track and raced some cars!
Then we visited the Woodmen Station where they shot a musket!  It was loud.
Talking to the guy was even more interesting, he knew his stuff!
Next, we launched water rockets, Camden was up first.
Then Erik, the twins both needed help to pump in the air in to blast the rocket off.
The grey spot in the top left corner is Camden's rocket!
Ella's turn at the rocket!  Uncle John was helping her pump air in.
The kids tried their hand at slingshots!  This was Ella's first time.
Camden was natural like Dennis the Menace!
The twins shooting.  The last thing the twins did was archery.  Camden decided not to this time.  It was a fun morning.

Toothless!

Ella went to the dentist to get a tooth pulled that was being stubborn!  Her permanent tooth came in about a month ago! Last smile with baby teeth!
A little attitude before the pulling of the teeth!  Yes, the dentist decided to pull all 4 teeth!
Feeling brave!
Getting numb, porcupine style!
The pulling!
Shopping for her prizes from her tokens for being a good patient!
What a Cutie, she even sang "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!" for me.
Showing Grandpa Jim...
Showing Grandma Jill...
I let Ella rest at Grandma's and she drew this picture of her teeth missing.
I took her to McDonalds for lunch before taking her back to school!  She was so calm through the entire ordeal, I was so impressed!

AWANA T&T Style

Camden is in 3rd grade this year and that bumped him up to the big kids' group T&T.  Their council time is set up like a mini sermon.  Camden is wearing the black hat, on the right, sitting next to his new teacher, Mr T.
They asked all the kids that dressed up that night in Fall/Harvest Hats to go in the middle of the circle and sing!  Ella is in the yellow hat and Erik is the shortest kid in the front row, second from the right.
Uncle John, Lisa (Shae's Mom), Angie (Ty's Mom) and Camden chilling out!
Camden had has his eyes dialated that afternoon so he was sporting his sunglasses.
Erik with his friend Wyatt.
Ella and her friend Shae.
Running around after club time.
Camden recited enough verses to earn his new T&T uniform, so proud and excited!

Salem Vacation, Part 3

The twins were freezing after swimming so I tucked them into my bed for a while.
Of course, Camden wanted in a warm bed too!  He wasn't shivering though.
The next morning after breakfast, I took Erik with me to get the luggage cart and he rode it all the way back to the hotel room.
Camden wanted the ride on the way back down.  The twins LOVE to wheel their suitcases around.  They only do it once or twice a year when we go on vacation.
Grandma spoiled all of us with some Dutch Bros steamers.  It was a good thing too, as the weather was a bit chilly and misty!  More train tracks behind us, the boys loved that.
Luckily we got to the carousel right as it opened!
Camden chose this horse, but I can't remember it's name?
Erik is scared of heights, but he chose the biggest horse there, Bucky!
Ella chose a....wait for it...White horse!  Any surprise there?
Bucky has had all 4 of his legs broke die to kids climbing up on him.  The kids are supposed to use the metal foot bar, but this horse is huge!
Ella chose a keychain but both boys wanted to smash a penny!
They both chose the Happy Holidays design.
Then we played on the big playground right outside until 2 of the 3 kids had to go potty!  That took a good 20 minutes!
We took a cute group shot and walked back to the car and headed home as the kids were Tired with a capital T!  Thanks for the fun times in Salem Grandma!
