Family Reading Night

Last week the Alderson Grandparents came out to Gresham to take the kids to their Family Reading Night at school.  We started with the pizza dinner in the cafeteria.

Ella choose cheese.
Camden chose cheese too!
Erik had a slice of pizza without tomato sauce and turkey pepperoni from home that I warmed before we left because of his food allergies.
There was a Photo booth where we dressed up in props, here's Brian!
Blurry, but priceless photo of the adults checking out the kids' schoolwork!
The school had the computer lab open too so the kids could check out the reading websites.
Each student that came got to pick out a free book from the school's Title 1 program.

Erik was so funny shopping at the bookfair.  He went in, looked around, and picked out 3 books and said, I'm done!  He definitely knows what he wants!
The kids and all their books from the night!  Thanks to Alderson Grandparents for the some of the books!  I was so proud that all 3 of my kids chose to bring their own money to buy books with too!
There was also a pumpkin decorating contest for the Family Reading Night.  The kids chose a book character for their pumpkins.  Erik chose the "Go Away Monster" and painted it.
Camden chose "Big Nate" and used crayon, colored pencils, and markers.
Ella chose the "Rainbow Fish" but we don't have a book to show you.
All the pumpkins on display.
The judges picked 10 pumpkins as contest winners and Ella won!  She is the blue fish on the right.  She won a $5 gift certificate for the bookfair.
All the kids in the school made their own Crest of Arms for decorations at the book fair.
