Wilamette National Cemetary

Last night we headed off to Wilamette National Cemetary to place flags on each Veteran's tombstone in honor of the upcoming Memorial Day.
There were 2 cute Girl Scouts there too!
The ceremony was longer than I expected, but nice to hear from the Scoutmaster, a Pastor, a Veteran, and other important people from this community.  The coast guard helicopter flew over us and hovered for our applause too!
They asked all the Veterans to stand, yea Brian!  Brian is a Navy veteran.
The 2 little sisters in our Cub Scout Pack!  They had fun working together placing flags with Madison's Dad.
My 2 respectful boys!  The Scouts were supposed to read the name of the Veteran, place the flag, and salute them for their service and sacrifice.   CJ went off on his own this year and placed a lot of flags!
The Family; Ella is doing her Girl Scout sign!

Erik is under the weather and on pneumonia watch again, so I stuck pretty close to him most the evening.  He got so scared and upset when the 21 rifle salute happened!  He also pooped out at 8pm and I turned around to find him lying in the grass curled up to someone's grave!
So proud of his entire row that he placed!  It was a hot, long, hard event, but worth every minute of it for our Veterans.  This was also the first official Cub Scout event Erik earned a council segment for!
